What I've Done

Monday, December 18, 2006

Ok, im back with finally some time to blog. Last week has been job hunting, job hunting and more job hunting. Sucks. They ALWAYS give you this catch phrase "Thanks, we will call you back if you're shortlisted." I've filled up more than 10 application forms and NONE got back to me. Im sure you have seen TV dramas, all hopes are gone when they tell you that.

I REALLY WANT TO WORK AT ADIDAS! BUT THERES NO VACANCY. sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh.

Waiter jobs are tough man. Went for an interview for a Waiter position at Grand Hyatt, fortunately for Gab's dad's membership at that hotel, they offered us 2 slots but we had 3 ppl. Our job includes polishing of cutlery, i've got enough of polishing my boots in BB, no way would I want to polish cutleries. The most stressful of all is the carrying of those huge rounded trays with food on it, once it topples over, bye bye.

I still think the best job is apparel sales.

BUT, i've managed to earn some cash on saturday and sunday, cos we took up Gab's cousin's offer. 2 DAYS. $8/HR. Giving out flyers at Dohby Ghaut, it was kinda boring and tiring on the first day but things took for a change on the second day coz we knew giving out the flyers 1 by 1 would never end. So, we decided to give like 5 flyers to one person. And Keith's record was 30 flyers to one bangla worker LOL. Their reaction was damn comical but we disappeared before they could start swearing. hahaha. All in all, it was a learning experience.

Majority of those ppl that would just ignore you were the caucasians. Seriously, they have no respect at all. Is saying no thank you or just a simple gesture so difficult to do? Although i hate taking flyers, i dont just ignore them, they're human beings after all, they still deserve the basic respect. The feeling of a passer-by saying thank you, giving you a smile and accepting the flyer was really encouraging. I bet from now on, all of us would start accepting flyers and acknowledging their existence. =)
